The Raleigh City Council has approved $2.2 million in Affordable Housing Bond funds to create Forward Together, a new housing community for individuals transitioning from recovery programs. The project is led by Healing Transitions, a local nonprofit focused on supporting people on their path to stability.

The development will include 17 affordable housing units within the Women’s Campus of Healing Transitions. Designed mainly for women and mothers leaving recovery programs, it is located near public transit and essential services such as grocery stores, pharmacies, and schools. According to the City of Raleigh, residents will have access to spaces for wellness, peer support, and family connection, including yoga and meditation rooms, children’s play areas, and community gathering areas.

This project is part of Raleigh's Small-Scale Rental Development program, which supports innovative housing solutions and partnerships to address the shortage of affordable housing. Forward Together will provide residents with more than just housing. The community is designed to remain affordable for at least 50 years.
