
Early morning blaze in Cherryville was tamed within minutes by the swift action of local fire departments, as per a social media announcement from the Gaston County Office of Emergency Management and Fire Services. The incident, which occurred at a commercial business on Lincolnton Hwy, saw first responders arriving on the scene rapidly after the call.
According to the Facebook post from the county's emergency management office, "At 0307 hours this morning, Gaston County Fire Departments were dispatched to a reported commercial business fire on Lincolnton Hwy in Cherryville." The Crouse Fire Department Engine 81 was first on site at 0310 hours and immediately declared a working fire.
An aggressive attack on the flames led to the fire being under control in under 20 minutes. In a statement released by the emergency management, they confirmed that "The origin and cause of this fire was investigated by the Gaston County Office of Emergency Management and Fire Services and was found to be accidental."
The cohort of responders included not only the Crouse Fire Department but also Tryonota Fire Department, Hugh’s Pond Fire Department, Ag Center Fire Department, North Gaston Fire Department, Waco Fire Department, GEMS, Gaston County 911 and GCOEMFS.
