Construction on the Louis Thompson Road Tightline Project is almost done. The final layer of pavement will be added in spring 2026 because November’s weather wasn’t dry enough for quality paving. After that, crews will finish the striping and roadway markings, according to the City of Sammamish.
The new sidewalk leading to the East Lake Sammamish Trail ramp is now open, giving pedestrians a safer connection that was planned from the start. The intersection’s traffic signal has also been upgraded with new equipment, video detection, and better accessible ramps, as reported by the City of Sammamish.
A new stormwater system now helps protect Zackuse Creek, Lake Sammamish, and the Kokanee salmon habitat. The project also added ten retaining walls, allowing the road to be widened for a bike lane and better shoulders—an important upgrade for safety and long-term infrastructure, as per the City of Sammamish. As the project progresses, updates can be found on the City of Sammamish website, providing ongoing transparency and awareness for Sammamish residents on the future of their roadways and surrounding environment.
