A devastating two-vehicle collision in San Bernardino County on the evening of Nov. 28 has resulted in the deaths of two adults and the hospitalization of three children, following an incident involving suspected DUI. Arianna Obryan, 24, of San Bernardino, was arrested at the scene and faces charges of vehicular manslaughter and child endangerment.
Reports from the Colton Police Department, as obtained by ABC7, indicate that the crash occurred around 10:15 p.m. near Mill Street and Ohio Street in Colton. Obryan's 2014 Toyota Camry clashed with a 2013 BMW containing three adults — the 19-year-old front passenger from Colton was pronounced dead at the scene, another passenger was hospitalized but remains in stable condition, and the third occupant's condition has not been disclosed. Within the Toyota, an unidentified 25-year-old male passenger met a similar fate, dying from his injuries, where tragedy struck, said the police in a statement to CBS News Los Angeles.
The aftermath left the landscape of what once was a regular street corner into a stark tableau of loss, with the crumpled remains of the vehicles serving as a grim backdrop. Amidst the chaos, three children, passengers in Obryan's car, were whisked away to urgent care. According to information from the Colton Police Department, two of the children remained in critical but stable condition the following day, while the third child was released with minor injuries, as per KTLA.
While the investigation into the specific circumstances that led to this horrific event is ongoing, authorities are piecing together the narrative. The identities of the two deceased men have been withheld, pending notification of next of kin, reported the police.
