As Veterans Day approaches, San Luis residents are reminded that city offices will shut down in observance of the holiday. The City has confirmed that all regular services and business hours will be put on hold on November 11, according to an announcement made public on the City's website. But those needing assistance shouldn't worry, as emergency services will still be operational during this period.
For residents who are used to seeing their trash picked up on Mondays and Thursdays, there’s no need to adjust your schedule; collection will proceed as usual. However, if your pickup falls on Tuesdays and Fridays, prepare for a minor shake-up. The City has outlined that Tuesday routes will be collected on Wednesday, and Friday routes remain unchanged, according to the recent alert from the City of San Luis. It’s a slight deviation from the norm in a week that pays homage to those who've served.
Utility payments, of which some folks might lose track amidst the holiday hustle, can be made without stepping into City Hall. Whether it’s online, over the phone, through a live operator, at the self-serving kiosk outside city hall, or via the trusty drop box for checks and money orders, the City has provided a smorgasbord of options to ensure the lights stay on and the water keeps flowing. Payments are pegged to be processed the following business day, ensuring no hiccups in services for residents.
In the event of water or sewer tribulations, the Police Department Communications Division is ready to answer the call. With a direct line at (928) 341-2420, they stand prepared to handle any crises that may spring forth during the city's brief hiatus.
