On Monday, Santa Rosa Police Department officers were dispatched to a business on Santa Rosa Avenue in response to reports of a person refusing to leave the premises. The individual was identified as 32-year-old Tasha Holt from Santa Rosa, who, according to the Santa Rosa Police Department, had been repeatedly asked by staff to depart but continued to resist their efforts.

Officers spent about 15 minutes attempting to peacefully resolve the situation with Holt, engaging in conversation to persuade her to leave voluntarily. During the interaction, Holt was described as making incoherent statements and exhibiting a reluctance to answer questions. It was discovered during their investigation, the officers found that Holt had two active misdemeanor warrants for her arrest issued in Sonoma County.

As the police proceeded to apprehend Holt based on her outstanding warrants, she began to resist, initiating a struggle that resulted in damage to police equipment and an assault on the officers. Holt's actions, as detailed in the Santa Rosa Police's social media post, included breaking a Taser holster, dislodging a magazine from an officer's pouch, and altering the channel on his radio.

In the course of the altercation, Holt managed to break another officer's body-worn camera mount, causing the camera itself to fall. Attempting to kick the officers, Holt assaulted them by forcefully grabbing them. After a prolonged effort, the officers were finally able to subdue Holt, secure her in handcuffs, and escort her to a patrol vehicle for transportation to a local hospital for evaluation. This was followed by booking her into the Sonoma County Jail on her standing warrants, along with a new charge for resisting an executive officer.

A member of the responding officers sustained injuries during the incident and received treatment at a local hospital before being released.
