Seattle residents have a chance to spread some holiday cheer as the Seattle Fire Department teams up with the U.S. Marine Corps for their annual Toys for Tots drive. In a push to ensure that every child has a present to open this season, four local fire stations will open their doors on Dec. 6, 2025, to collect new and unwrapped gifts for those in need. The participating stations include Greenwood Fire Station 21, West Seattle Fire Station 29, Hawthorne Hills Fire Station 38, and Magnolia Fire Station 41.
For those interested in contributing, the Greenwood, West Seattle, and Hawthorne Hills stations are welcoming donors between 2 and 4 p.m. Magnolia's collection will last a bit longer, coinciding with their Winterfest, from 2 to 5 p.m., according to details posted on Fireline Seattle's website. "Our firefighters will be there to collect new and unwrapped gifts," the site states, encouraging the community to consider gifts for all age groups, particularly infants and teenagers, who are often overlooked during holiday charity drives.
The initiative isn't just about providing toys; it's also about fostering the spirit of giving within the community. Donated items will be handed over to the Marines, who will then distribute them to local organizations in Seattle and King County to reach children and families facing hardships. Suggested donation items include toys, books, sports equipment, and art supplies. Those unable to attend can still offer their support by visiting other drop-off locations in the Seattle area until Dec. 10, or by making an online donation directly to the Toys for Tots program.
Seattle Fire's engagement in the Toys for Tots drive is a call to action for the community to unite for a common good during the holiday season. "Thank you for your generosity for your neighbors this holiday season," the Seattle Fireline expresses. The collective effort of Seattleites is what will help make these special moments possible for youngsters and families who otherwise might not have the resources to celebrate. The full list of recommended gifts and alternative ways to contribute can be found by visiting the original post on the Seattle Fireline website.
