Seattle Parks and Recreation has announced a range of free and low-cost holiday events. These activities will take place across parks and community centers throughout the city.

According to the Seattle Parks and Recreation release, beginning December 5 and continuing through February, events include community center celebrations, park programs, and seasonal gatherings. No registration is required for several activities, such as the Community Holiday Party at Garfield Community Center and the Meadowbrook Luminaria Walk. Other events, including the Gingerbread Jubilee, require advance registration. The schedule also features the Tree Lighting Celebration at Westlake Center and Sounds of the Season at Pioneer Park, which will offer live holiday music.

The Winter Tot Carnival, planned for December 6 at Magnuson Community Center, is intended for children ages 0–5 and has a $3.00 entry fee per participant. The Lunar New Year Celebration on February 13 at the International District Chinatown Community Center will offer free cultural performances, including Lion and Dragon Dance demonstrations and martial arts.

Additional events include the Green Lake Pathway of Lights on December 13, Volunteer Park’s Holiday in the Park on December 4 with live music and refreshments, and a free Holiday Ice Skating Rink at Occidental Square from December 13–21. December 13 also marks the opening of the Holiday Trading Post, which will feature over 40 local vendors. Letters to Santa will take place at Bell Street Park on December 6 with live music.

These seasonal activities offer options for residents of all ages and provide opportunities for community participation throughout the winter months.
