
The Snellville Police Department received recognition from the Governor’s Office of Highway Safety. In the 26th Annual Governor’s Challenge Awards, the department earned second place overall in Georgia’s statewide category and first place for its work in Distracted Driving Enforcement and Education, as per the City of Snellville release.
The event, held in Macon, honors law enforcement agencies that demonstrate a strong commitment to highway safety through enforcement, education, and prevention programs. Departments are evaluated on areas such as impaired driving prevention, occupant protection, speed control, and local traffic safety initiatives.
Lieutenant Poole received special recognition for preparing the department’s award submission. His work helped highlight the department’s highway safety programs. Chief Greg Perry expressed appreciation to all officers for their efforts in promoting community safety.
