
Last Saturday morning, a fire broke out in a Southwest Portland townhouse, sending three people to the hospital for smoke inhalation. The fire started on the main floor of the 5527 Southwest Multnomah Boulevard home around 7 a.m., and two residents were trapped on a rear balcony. Portland Fire & Rescue crews arrived and began fighting the fire and rescuing those inside, according to KGW.
A two-alarm fire in Portland caused two people to jump from a second-story balcony to escape. Three people were taken to a hospital for smoke inhalation, as reported by Portland Tribune. Firefighters, including 51 from Tualatin Valley Fire & Rescue, put out the fire and stopped it from spreading to nearby homes. The cause of the fire is under investigation. During the response, firefighters also helped at a head-on crash nearby, where one person was trapped and taken to the hospital.
