The St. Charles County Police Department, along with other local law enforcement agencies, conducted a traffic safety operation. According to a social media post by the department, officers made 248 stops, issued 343 tickets and warnings, and arrested five individuals during a six-hour period. The operation focused on construction zones, with reminders for drivers to follow speed limits and drive safely.
The initiative is part of a wider effort by St. Charles County law enforcement to enforce traffic safety. So far this year, there have been 1,478 stops, 1,994 tickets and warnings, and 35 arrests. The campaign focuses on areas with a lot of construction to reduce unsafe driving.
Agencies that took part in the initiative included the St. Peters Police Department, Cottleville Police Department, O'Fallon Police Department, Lake Saint Louis Police Department, Wentzville Police Department, MoDOT – St. Louis, Missouri State Highway Patrol, and the Law Enforcement Traffic Safety Advisory Council (LETSAC). The effort is part of a community-focused approach to keeping roads safer for residents.
