A St. Charles, Missouri man, Trevon Carson, 31, has pleaded guilty in connection with a fatal incident during a 2023 marijuana deal. In U.S. District Court in St. Louis on Wednesday, Carson admitted to his role in the death and pleaded guilty to one count of conspiracy to distribute marijuana and one count of discharge of a firearm in furtherance of a drug trafficking crime resulting in death, according to the U.S. Attorney's Office.
In his plea, Carson admitted that on May 25, 2023, he drove to an alley behind the 4800 block of Farlin Avenue in St. Louis for a marijuana deal that turned violent. Carson stated that he perceived the victim, who was armed with an AR-style firearm, as a threat, leading him to fatally shoot the victim and take the firearm. He then drove the buyer away from the scene.
As part of the guilty plea, the government will seek a 20-year prison sentence for Carson. The plea agreement resolves the case without a trial. The prosecution is being handled by Assistant U.S. Attorney Ryan Finlen, with the investigation conducted by the St. Louis Metropolitan Police Department and the FBI.
