As Veterans Day approaches, St. Johns County is preparing to give its due respects to the men and women who have served the nation. In light of this, it has been announced that a slew of county offices will be closing doors on November 11, in observance of the holiday. This closure is set to include a wide range of departments such as the St. Johns County Board of County Commissioners, the Supervisor of Elections Office, the Property Appraiser’s Office, and more, according to an update from St. Johns County's official website.
For residents worried about potential disruptions to their weekly routine, fear not: garbage, recycling, and yard debris collection will maintain its steadfast course, unaffected by the holiday. This decision ensures that while a day of remembrance is observed, the pragmatic day-to-day continues its rhythm for the community. Moreover, the Tillman Ridge and Stratton Road transfer stations are set to remain on schedule, the county has said.
With technological aids at their disposal, citizens looking to keep abreast with waste management schedules can effortlessly do so. The county suggests downloading the Recycle Coach app or visiting their recycling website for the most up-to-date and personalized information. This digital service provides alerts and educates on the proper disposal of various household wastes, helping St. Johns County residents do their part in the eco-friendly management of their homes.
