A St. Louis man has pleaded guilty to a shocking crime involving child sexual abuse and exploitation. Marshall Williams, 41, admitted to the production of child pornography after being accused of sexually abusing a five-year-old and capturing the heinous acts with his cellphone, according to the U.S. Attorney's Office, Eastern District of Missouri.
The abuse surfaced in March 2024 when the victim's aunt discovered the disturbing videos which she in turn reported to the child's mother, together, they confronted Williams but he escaped prompting them to reach out to the St. Louis Metropolitan Police Department for assistance, which sparked an investigation leading to Williams' arrest and eventual guilty plea. Williams is now slated to face sentencing on Feb. 19, 2026, facing a sentence that is expected to fall between a mandatory minimum of 15 years and a maximum of 30 years imprisonment.
This case falls under Project Safe Childhood’s umbrella, a national initiative launched by the Department of Justice in May 2006 aimed directly at combating the rising tide of child sexual exploitation and abuse. The multi-layered approach enlists assistance from U.S. Attorneys’ Offices and the Department of Justice Criminal Division's Child Exploitation and Obscenity Section, which tightens the net on those who lever the Internet for nefarious purposes targeting children while also working to identify and save the young victims ensnared by such acts.
As the prosecution moves forward, led by Assistant U.S. Attorney Jillian Anderson, additional details may come to light about the context and consequences of Williams’ actions.
