El Paso woke up to clear skies and mid-40s temperatures on Wednesday, with dry air settled over the valley and a quiet weather pattern in place. Afternoon highs will climb into the mid-60s, setting up a stretch of mild conditions through Thanksgiving that should keep most outdoor plans in the comfort zone, according to the National Weather Service.
Winds will stay light out of the east to southeast, generally 3 to 7 mph, so afternoons should feel pleasant while evenings fall back into the 40s. No watches or warnings are in effect for the region, and the calm setup is expected to hold through Saturday before a late-week shakeup arrives.
Thursday’s Thanksgiving forecast calls for mostly sunny skies and a high near 67°F. Friday and Saturday stay on the mild and mostly dry side, with some lowland spots pushing near 70°F. Late Saturday night, a backdoor cold front is expected to slide in, bringing cooler air for Sunday and the early part of next week.
The National Weather Service is flagging a slight chance of rain or snow showers from Monday into Tuesday, with precipitation odds around 15–20% and the highest chances over higher terrain. Most of lowland El Paso should stay largely dry, but mountain passes could pick up a bit of mixed precipitation Monday night. Anyone heading into the hills will want to pack layers and build in some extra travel time.
For holiday travelers sticking to the lowlands, light winds and mostly sunny skies through Thursday mean minimal weather-related impacts, aside from the return of cool mornings each night. On Sunday, expect some breezy gusts along mountain slopes, and on Monday, any showers could briefly reduce visibility. If your plans take you into higher elevations, check local mountain conditions before you drive.
