Memphis authorities have located and safely returned 101 missing children over a 40-day period through a joint operation between the Memphis Safe Task Force (MSTF) and the U.S. Marshals. According to reports from Action News 5, the recoveries were completed as of yesterday, highlighting a coordinated effort to address missing child cases in the city.
The U.S. Marshals Service Missing Child Unit, which typically handles fugitive investigations, assisted local and state authorities in the search. “We are happy that we have been able to use our fugitive hunting skills to assist local and state authorities with finding these missing children,” said U.S. Marshals spokesperson Emily Williams in a statement to FOX 13 Memphis. She added that the cooperation among agencies was essential to the operation’s success.
In addition to the recoveries, the Memphis Safe Task Force made 1,862 arrests last month as part of its broader public safety efforts, as reported by WREG.
The collaboration between the U.S. Marshals and the MSTF will continue as investigations progress.
