The United Football League (UFL) is making a play beyond the field, with a major donation drive to aid Arlington families and veterans in need. Through its "United by Giving" initiative, the UFL has provided six truckloads of official team and league apparel to Mission Arlington, partnering with All My Sons Moving Company for delivery. The multi-day donation process, which aligns with the league's community engagement ethos, kicked off last week on November 11, at the league's headquarters located in the Arlington Entertainment District, witnessing a flurry of activity as players and staff volunteered together to load shipping pallets.
This act of generosity comes as the UFL engages more comprehensively with its home base in Arlington, Texas, where the headquarters serves as the league's lifeblood for over 400 individuals involved in the spring season, including players, coaches, and staff. "The donation that the United Football League has given us has never been this good," told UFL Communications Miss Tilly Burgin, Executive Director of Mission Arlington, acknowledging how the contribution will clothe families ranging from the youngest to the oldest that they serve, per the City of Arlington.
Mission Arlington's commitment to helping over 350 families with housing, as well as serving hundreds more weekly, is getting a boost thanks to UFL's donation, athletic apparel, football gear, and sneakers expected to support incoming community members seeking assistance in the critical winter months. This aligns with the nonprofit's dedication to service, and, as Burgin emphasized, the donation reflects the unity that stands as a cardinal value for the city of Arlington, bringing people together with what she describes as ‘gifts of love’.
For the UFL, community outreach is more than just seasonal goodwill; it's a foundational pillar of their operations, and for Mission Arlington, it is an affirmation that their work transcends individual contributions and blossoms through partnerships. "What the United Football League has done is a reflection of who we are as a community. Their partnership helps bring us together — because together, we’re able to share gifts of love," Burgin stated, per the City of Arlington, further reinforcing the league's alignment with the city's communal ethos.
