Quick thinking and seamless coordination between an employee at Vacaville Premium Outlets and the Vacaville Police Department led to the apprehension of two suspects involved in a $700 retail theft. This successful arrest was detailed in a social media post by the Vacaville Police Department last Friday.

Following the employee's alert, who spotted a woman shoplifting clothing before fleeing in a vehicle, Vacaville's dispatchers and Real-Time Information Center analysts were quick to their feet, launching a city-wide search for the getaway car. Employing the city's camera network and the Drone as First Responder (DFR) program, officers were set on the trail of the suspects. Circulating through the city, the vehicle's path was tracked, leading onto the westbound I-80, where the patrol hopefuls were able to make the catch.

Upon stopping the vehicle, officers found the stolen merchandise easily visible inside the car. The suspects, identified as Emelda Miles and Antoinique Bryant from Richmond, were detained and complied with officers without incident. The Vacaville Police Department's Facebook post reported, "Both were booked into the Solano County Jail on charges related to shoplifting and conspiracy and the vehicle was towed." Additionally, Ms. Miles faced further scrutiny with three more outstanding felony warrants for burglary, grand theft, and organized retail theft, one of which had a bail set at $100,000.
