A Winter Park man has been sentenced to a lengthy prison term, 170 years, following his conviction on charges involving the sexual abuse of children. David Andrew Ogden, 40, was sentenced after pleading guilty to multiple counts of producing and possessing child sexual abuse material (CSAM), according to a report by ClickOrlando. U.S District Judge Carlos E. Mendoza handed down the sentence, which was met with little surprise given the gravity of the charges he was facing.
Court records detail Ogden's explicitly unlawful actions, where he was caught on September 8, 2024, after surreptitiously entering an apartment and attempting to touch two sleeping children. During the incident, he used his cellphone to produce CSAM. After his arrest that same night, authorities searched Ogden's phone, uncovering even more incriminating evidence. Not only did they find additional files indicating Ogden in the sexual abuse of two other minors, but they also discovered more than 1,000 AI-generated CSAM images and 10 videos portraying the abuse of young children, some as young as two years old, as indicated by a report from Orlando-News.
The investigation, spearheaded by the Federal Bureau of Investigation with support from the Winter Park Police Department, was a part of Project Safe Childhood, a nationwide initiative launched in 2006 by the Department of Justice designed to combat child sexual exploitation and abuse.
