The Wisconsin Department of Transportation's Division of Motor Vehicles has revoked the license of Milwaukee-based motor vehicle dealer BLRS LLC, after the company was found in violation of several state laws related to the sale and transfer of motor vehicles. The WisDOT DMV determined that BLRS committed multiple offenses, including motor vehicle theft by fraud, misrepresenting the sale of motor vehicles, and failing to follow through with required title transfers and record-keeping protocols.
According to the WisDOT, BLRS not only misrepresented sales and neglected to transfer titles within the mandated seven business days, but they also failed to submit title applications to the department and to make their records accessible upon request, as required by law. The initial action to revoke the license came into effect on August 25, followed by a hearing on September 19, which upheld the decision. BLRS did not appeal the decision within the allowed 30 days, rendering the revocation final.
This revocation serves as a stark reminder of the rigor with which the WisDOT’s Dealer and Agent Section enforces state regulations concerning dealership sales and warranty repairs, as well as their role in investigating complaints around odometer tampering and title fraud, not just with dealerships but also involving private sellers.
The Wisconsin Department of Transportation (WisDOT) has revoked the dealer license of BLRS after identifying violations in the company’s motor vehicle transactions. The department said the action is part of its efforts to ensure compliance with state regulations and maintain lawful practices among vehicle dealers. WisDOT DMV officials emphasized that the revocation is intended to protect consumers and uphold the integrity of the state’s motor vehicle market.
