A reckless driving incident on I-95 led to the arrest of a woman clocking 101 mph in a 70 mph zone. The St. Johns County Sheriff's Office took to social media to detail the event, which unfolded on November 15. Deputies, who were conducting traffic enforcement at the time, apprehended the speeding vehicle that contained two adults and five children, with the youngest child improperly unrestrained and sprawled across the laps of other passengers.
The driver, in an unfortunate turn of events, was not only guilty of dangerous driving but was also operating the vehicle with a suspended license and had active arrest warrants. The children, unbeknownst to the risks they were subjected, were put in harm's way due to the driver's negligence. The social media post from the St. Johns County Sheriff's Office added that the driver was arrested and faces charges including Dangerous Excessive Speed and failing to adhere to Child Restraint requirements.
Upon stopping the vehicle, authorities found that the driver had a suspended license and active arrest warrants, leading to her subsequent arrest. According to the St. Johns County Sheriff's Office, in addition to being charged with Dangerous Excessive Speed, she was also cited for Unknowingly Operating a Vehicle while DWLSR (Driving While License Suspended, Revoked, or Canceled).
