
A 71-year-old man from Washington Township is in critical condition after his vehicle hit a utility pole in Macomb County on Friday. Police said he was driving north on M-53 near 35 Mile Road around 3:50 p.m. when he went off the road and struck the pole. Responders found him unresponsive in a ditch, according to CBS News.
The Michigan State Police reported that when emergency teams arrived, a man was found with a weak pulse and was taken to the hospital in critical condition, as reported by ClickOnDetroit. Medical personnel at the scene said he may have had a heart attack, which could have caused the crash. The incident is under investigation.
