A weekend night near Broadway in Chula Vista turned violent after two people were stabbed and rushed to the hospital, where they were later transferred to a trauma center because of how serious their injuries were, authorities said.
Chula Vista police first headed to the Manhattan Bar in the 400 block of Broadway on Saturday after a report of shots fired. When officers checked out the scene, they did not find any evidence of gunfire. Patrons were questioned, and police determined that no one had actually heard shots, according to a statement to ABC 10News San Diego.
The situation took a darker turn when two people later showed up at a local hospital with stab wounds, ABC 10News San Diego reports. Because of the severity of their injuries, both were transferred to a trauma center for further treatment.
Police said the stabbing victims did not cooperate with investigators and did not provide statements, leaving detectives with more questions than answers. No arrests have been made.
