
In a recent development from Blount County Sheriff's Office, officials have informed the public that they have gathered the necessary information about a motorcycle that may hold clues pertaining to a crash involving Deputy Justin Mowery. The update, posted on the sheriff's office's social media channel, confirms that tips from citizens are being pursued as the investigation presses forward. The office expressed its gratitude, stating, "Sheriff's investigators have obtained the information they were seeking in reference to the motorcycle. Investigators are following up on all of the tips and information that our citizens provided, and the investigation is continuing. Thank you to everyone who messaged us with information." The public's continued support and prayers for Deputy Mowery's family were also requested.
The initial call for public assistance came as Sheriff James Lee Berrong sought to identify the motorcyclist in connection with the Sunday afternoon crash. What is currently known, per the official statement, is that a Sheriff's cruiser camera captured footage of the unknown motorcycle at 5:13 p.m. on Lane Drive in Friendsville, shortly after the accident on Miser Station Road. The vehicle was seen driving through a field in the direction of U.S. Highway 321 West.
