Heads up, Boulder County residents: if you're planning to pop into a county office or building over the holiday season, you might want to double-check the opening hours. According to Boulder County, the schedule is about to get a bit festive, which means closures.
Specifically, for the Christmas holiday, county offices will be shutting their doors early at noon on Wednesday, Dec. 24, and won't reopen until Monday, Dec. 29. New Year's brings a similar routine with a half-day on Wednesday, Dec. 31 and a full day of closure on Thursday, Jan. 1. There's no need to worry about essential services, though. As Boulder County stated, "The closures do not impact 24/7 public safety, child and adult protection, or maintenance operations."
So, if you've got end-of-year business with the county, you're going to want to get it done sooner rather than later. Or you could just skip the trip entirely. Boulder County points out that many services are available online, a holiday miracle for the bureaucratic soul, and you're encouraged to use the county's website for such needs during these festive times.
