Bridgeton Police Officers spent part of their week at Pattonville High School, trading patrol duties for classroom engagement. According to a recent social media post, using a driving simulator, the officers worked with students to enhance decision-making skills behind the wheel, providing hands-on learning experiences rather than traditional classroom instruction.
As per the Bridgeton Police Department Facebook post, the driving simulator provides a safe but realistic experience, allowing students to navigate scenarios involving distracted and impaired driving. Standardized Field Sobriety Tests (SFSTs) were also incorporated into the session, giving students a practical understanding of the consequences of driving under the influence.
Officers collaborated with Pattonville High School to promote safe driving habits among students. The Bridgeton Police Department Facebook post acknowledged the positive reception, stating, "Thank you to the students and staff for welcoming us," and highlighted the value of such proactive safety initiatives.
