A local college student experienced a distressing intrusion when she found an unexpected visitor in her apartment this week. Ahana Agrawal, a graduate student at Carnegie Mellon University, returned to find her bedroom door locked from the inside and, upon gaining entry, encountered a half-naked man standing near her bed. As recounted to WPXI, she described the man as looking "very suspicious and dangerous."

"Pittsburgh has been pretty safe, so that’s why we didn’t expect something like this happening," Agrawal explained in a statement obtained by WPXI. The suspect, identified by police as Malki Miles, was reportedly naked from the waist down when he opened the door. According to Agrawal, the suspect even attempted to bribe her with money to prevent her from calling the authorities. However, Agrawal, along with her roommates, quickly decided to lock themselves in another room while determining the next steps. This account was further verified in a WTAE report.

Agrawal's roommate, Smriti Jha, also a graduate student, stated, per WTAE, that though the intruder had spent some time in the room, no items appeared to have been moved, which suggests the lack of intent to steal. Officers who responded to the incident soon apprehended Miles outside the apartment and discovered drugs and two crack pipes on him. The items in the apartment, including electronics and jewelry, were reportedly left untouched.

In the aftermath of the intrusion, Agrawal and her roommates have rightfully asked their landlord for increased security measures. "We asked the owner to barricade the windows. That would be nice because, honestly, I’m not feeling that safe in this area. One of my roommates is not sleeping here anymore," Agrawal insisted, told WPXI. Miles is currently being held at the Allegheny County Jail, awaiting a preliminary hearing scheduled for December 9, wherein he will face burglary and several other misdemeanor charges.
