For those of you who enjoy the scenic vistas at Carver County's parks, there are a few changes coming to how you can use the spaces next year. Announced via their social media, Carver County Parks has outlined new guidelines for facility rentals and event bookings that aim to streamline operations and enhance the overall park-goer experience.
Starting in 2026, if you've been eyeing the Beachside Shelter at Lake Waconia Regional Park for your summertime shindigs, be advised that you can now book it for Saturdays starting in July. Yet, in a move that's perhaps less than sunny, there will be no bookings allowed for Saturdays in May or June. Meanwhile, Baylor Regional Park will offer easier access with its Barn Patio available for reservation with up to 20 days' advance notice, a flexibility that social planners are sure to appreciate.
However, it's not all freewheeling in the reservations department. The Baylor Regional Park's Community Room is tightening its booking requirements. As per the official Carver County Parks Facebook post, reservations must be made "at least 21 days in advance," and planners should be aware of "scheduled blackout dates."
The updates also touch on the tradition of beach baptisms. If you're planning one, you will have to schedule it between mid-June through mid-August, and it's a weekday-only affair – Monday through Friday. And, don't even think about lingering with the flock post-service; groups must wrap up and be offsite by the strict cutoff of 9 a.m. For those seeking more details or looking to secure a spot, the county has provided a resourceful link to guide you through the process and answer any lingering questions.
These changes reflect a conscious effort by Carver County Parks to balance public demand with operational efficiency. As more information becomes available, or should further adjustments be made to the reservation system, updates are expected to be provided through their social media channels. For now, prospective event planners have a heads up to start prepping early and to mark their 2026 calendars with these new guidelines in mind.
