Clark County Sheriff's Office confirmed the successful use of grappler technology to stop a vehicle involved in a high-speed pursuit spanning Skamania and Clark counties. The chase involved a suspected DUI driver showing erratic driving, with speeds ranging from 30 to 95 MPH and intermittent use of headlights, hazards, and blinkers, as reported by the Clark County Sheriff's Office.
Once the vehicle entered Clark County, a deputy deployed the grappler, "bringing the vehicle safely to a stop." The incident ended without injury or further complications, and the driver was taken into custody, as stated by the Clark County Sheriff's Office.
The driver barricaded herself in the back of her vehicle. Deputies, along with officers from the Skamania County Sheriff's Office, Washougal Police Department, Vancouver Police Department, and Washington State Patrol, formed a contact team. The driver was arrested "without incident," according to the Clark County Sheriff's Office on their Facebook page, which stated, "Thank you to Skamania County SO, Washougal PD, Vancouver Police Department, and Washington State Patrol for the teamwork."
