Ensuring a transfer of corporate culture and expertise, several senior leaders from Norway are leading operations from their new Arizona base, according to the same statement obtained by the City of Tempe news outlet.
Tempe Mayor Corey Woods praised the move for reinforcing the city's reputation as a tech magnet, stating, “Tempe offers a combination of top-tier talent, proximity to the country’smost innovative university, Class A waterfront office space, and a dynamic tech environment that attracts global companies,” as stated by the City of Tempe. Moreover, he indicated his pride that Cognite chose Tempe for its HQ and is bullish on the company's potential to innovate and expand in the Valley.
Cognite CEO Girish Rishi expressed excitement about the relocation, signalling the strategic value of the area, "Arizona's thriving technology ecosystem, skilled workforce and strategic location make it the ideal home for our next phase of growth," as he told the City of Tempe news service. The move aligns the company closer to the hub of semiconductor manufacturing, further entrenching its role in industrial AI amidst a critical period of digital economic transformation.
Aligning with larger trends, Arizona Governor Katie Hobbs remarked on the state's innovator status, "With its new global headquarters in Arizona, Cognite is strengthening our state's position as a leader in advanced technologies," she told the City of Tempe news outlet. Echoing her sentiments, Sandra Watson, President & CEO of the Arizona Commerce Authority, lauded the move for bolstering Arizona's high-tech industry leadership and lauded Girish Rishi's long-standing contributions to the state's economy.
