The National Weather Service in Norman has issued a Dense Fog Advisory until 10 a.m. Wednesday. Visibility may be as low as a quarter mile or less. The advisory covers parts of Oklahoma and nearby northern Texas. Drivers should be cautious, as low visibility could make travel dangerous, and bridges or elevated roads may be slick where temperatures are near freezing, according to the National Weather Service.
Dense fog is covering the area, making buildings and streets hard to see and causing cars to appear like shadows with headlights barely cutting through the fog. Driving in both cities and rural areas could be dangerous, as visibility may drop to a quarter mile or less early Wednesday morning. The fog is caused by very high humidity and light south winds, which are expected to shift and strengthen later tonight, as noted by the National Weather Service.
After the fog advisory ends, skies will stay mostly cloudy before clearing tonight. The low will be around 48°F. Winds will shift from the south to the west-northwest after midnight, with gusts up to 26 mph. Thursday will be sunny with a high near 57°F. Winds will calm by Thursday night, with lows around 33°F, as per the National Weather Service.
Looking ahead, Oklahoma City can expect mostly sunny days and clear nights from Friday through Tuesday. Highs will range from the upper 50s to the low 70s, with nighttime lows slowly warming as well. Overall, the forecast points to a pleasant stretch of weather, with highs reaching about 71°F by Tuesday, as reported by the National Weather Service.
