
The Dyer County Sheriff’s Office announced that Chief Investigator Terry McCreight has received the West Tennessee Criminal Investigators Association's ‘Case of the Year Award’ for his work on the 2018 murder of 18-year-old Daronte Herbert. The Dyer County Sheriff's Office credited McCreight’s leadership and diligence in solving the case.
On November 6, 2025, a Dyer County jury found Deshawn ‘Money’ Gorman and Demauzay ‘Zay’ Jackson guilty of first-degree murder, and both received life sentences. Chief Investigator Terry McCreight, honored with the ‘Case of the Year Award,’ expressed pride in his team and dedication to law enforcement, the Dyer County Sheriff's Office reported.
