
Early this morning, tragedy struck a community in West Morristown as a house fire on Astor Rd. prompted an emergency response from the local fire department. At approximately 8:50 am, the Morristown Fire Department (MFD) arrived at the scene to combat the blaze that had engulfed a family home, according to a social media post by the City of Morristown - Government.
As the fire was being extinguished, five individuals suffering from burns and smoke inhalation were transported to the hospital for urgent care; fire crews remained diligent in their effort to fully extinguish the fire and launch an investigation into its cause, the same social media post from the City of Morristown - Government added that there is an overwhelming sense of gratitude extended to the Morristown Police Department (MPD), Emergency Medical Services (EMS), Morristown Utility Systems (MUS), and the Morristown-Hamblen Humane Society for their cooperation and assistance on the scene.
