The El Paso County Sheriff's Office has reported an arrest in connection with a recent homicide case involving 45-year-old David Luciano Gutierrez, whose disappearance triggered an extensive investigation leading to grim findings. According to a social media post by El Paso County Sheriff Oscar Ugarte, Gutierrez was last seen on September 7 and was subsequently reported missing eight days later on September 15.

The search bore fruit with the discovery of human remains later identified as belonging to Gutierrez. The Medical Examiner ruled the death a homicide, which propelled the case forward. "The Sheriff’s Office remains firmly committed to bringing justice to victims and their families,” said El Paso County Sheriff Oscar Ugarte, emphasizing the dedication of the office to the pursuit of truth and accountability.
In the latest development, 48-year-old Javier Montoya Rubio has been taken into custody by the same unit, along with the Fugitive Apprehension Unit, for the murder of Gutierrez.
