Dallas Humber, a 35-year-old Elk Grove resident and leader of the transnational terror group Terrorgram Collective, was sentenced to 30 years in prison, U.S. Attorney Eric Grant announced. U.S. District Judge Dena Coggins also ordered lifetime supervised release for Humber’s convictions, which include soliciting hate crimes, plotting the murder of federal officials, and conspiring to provide material support to terrorists.

Humber used online platforms from her California home to incite and promote violence worldwide, including planning assassinations and bombings. As leader of the Terrorgram Collective, she provided “technical, inspirational, and operational guidance,” according to the U.S Department of Justice. Her directives were linked to several foiled plots in the United States and violent attacks abroad, including in Slovakia, Brazil, and Turkey, where lives were lost.

Assistant Attorney General for National Security John A. Eisenberg stated that the Justice Department is committed to pursuing individuals engaging in criminal activity online. Humber encouraged violence against people based on race, religion, sexual orientation, and gender identity, which was considered in her sentencing.

FBI Counterterrorism Division Assistant Director Donald Holstead noted in an official press release that Humber’s sentencing addresses her role in encouraging racially motivated violence, attacks on critical infrastructure, and the murder of federal officials. The 30-year prison term also includes considerations of deterrence.

The case was the result of a coordinated effort by the FBI and multiple domestic and international law enforcement agencies. Assistant U.S. Attorney Robert Abendroth and several Justice Department officials participated in the prosecution.
