In a release published by the City of Colorado Springs, attendees can secure their spot to witness the fireworks from the picturesque Crystal Reservoir at the Pikes Peak North Slope Recreation Area.
The event gets underway at 10:30 p.m. with Pikes Peak Ranger staff leading guests to the Crystal Reservoir Visitor Center parking area. Despite the late hour and a potential chill in the air, the guided journey to mile 6 on the Pikes Peak Highway is designed to be safe and accessible. Once there, enthusiasts can enjoy outdoor viewing areas specially set up for the spectacle, set against a starry sky.
There's more to the night than explosions and bright colors in the skies.
