
A late-night fight inside a small Red Bird event space turned deadly yesterday when a man opened fire, killing one person and injuring four others, according to Dallas police.
The shooting happened around 10 p.m. at Verbazend Creations & Event Venue in southern Dallas. Detectives say an argument inside the building escalated until one man pulled a gun and started shooting. Five people were hit, including the suspected shooter. One victim later died at a hospital, and two others remain in serious condition. Police have not released any names or a suspected motive.
Police say a dispute spiraled into gunfire
Investigators told FOX 4 the gunfire followed a fight inside the venue. They say a single male suspect opened fire, striking multiple people in the crowd. Officers at the scene rushed the victims to nearby hospitals. According to the station, two of the wounded are expected to survive, while two others are still listed in serious condition. The suspected shooter was also among those injured, police said.

The violence unfolded at Verbazend Creations & Event Venue, a locally operated event space on West Wheatland Road that markets itself as a spot for private parties, birthdays, showers, and other small gatherings. The property sits in the Red Bird corridor near Interstate 20 and serves as a neighborhood rental hall.
Detectives still sorting out what happened
Detectives spent the night and early morning gathering shell casings, reviewing the scene, and interviewing witnesses as the investigation continues, according to FOX 4. Authorities have not announced any arrests and are holding back further details while they work to piece together how a fight inside a party venue turned into deadly gunfire.
