
In a move aimed at bolstering North Carolina's economic infrastructure and streamlining governmental processes, Governor Josh Stein has roped in Doug Warf and Torre Jessup to join his executive circle, the Governor's office released a statement yesterday that details the new roles for both appointees, Warf will be stepping in as the Senior Advisor for Business Engagement while Jessup will tackle the role of Senior Advisor for Digital Experience.
With an extensive background that includes leadership positions as President of the Carolina Hurricanes and Lenovo Center, Doug Warf is slated to bridge connections between the state's bustling business scene and the Governor's directives. In his capacity, Warf will coordinate with entities such as the Department of Commerce and local chambers of commerce to forge partnerships that bolster support for businesses throughout the state, "I’m proud that North Carolina is the Top State for Business, but we can’t rest on our laurels," Governor Stein expressed his ambitions for the state's commercial prospects, "Doug will help the state strengthen our relationship with the businesses that call North Carolina home and prepare us to keep building a strong economic future for every person" according to the Governor's Office.
Torre Jessup, another seasoned veteran who formerly held the title of Chief Deputy State CIO for the NCDIT, has been selected to lead a technological overhaul within the state government, focusing on enhancing the digital aspects of public engagement with state services. Jessup's purview will include the creation of a user-friendly digital platform that streamlines the process for residents looking to utilize state services, "State government works only if it’s accessible and responsive to what people need," Stein stated, emphasizing the core goal Jessup aims to achieve, "Our digital systems are in need of an upgrade, and I know Torre will get the job done, I look forward to his leadership in making it easier for people to make sure their state government works for them," as per the Governor's Office.
