Missouri has appointed two new judges to its judicial system, Governor Mike Kehoe announced. John Gromowsky and Bridget Halquist will serve on the 16th and 21st Judicial Circuits, respectively. According to a press release on the governor’s official website, the appointments fill vacancies created by retiring judges.

John Gromowsky, previously an Associate Circuit Judge, has been appointed as Circuit Judge in Kansas City’s 16th Judicial Circuit. Gromowsky has experience in both prosecution and defense and previously served as an infantry officer in the U.S. Army. After completing his military service, he earned a law degree from DePaul University College of Law. He fills the vacancy left by the retirement of Judge S. Margene Burnett.

Bridget Halquist, a St. Louis attorney, has been appointed to the 21st Judicial Circuit. She has experience in business litigation, contracts, and employment law. Halquist began her career as a federal judicial law clerk before moving into private practice and most recently served as a managing member at Summers Compton Wells LLC. She fills the vacancy left by the retirement of Judge Thomas C. Albus.

Halquist previously served as a weather specialist in the United States Air Force and has been involved in the legal community, including serving as a grader for the Missouri Board of Law Examiners. She earned her undergraduate degree from Wilmington College, a Master of Science from Chaminade University, and a Juris Doctor from Saint Louis University School of Law.
