
A Wednesday evening drive on U.S. Highway 287 in Grand Prairie turned deadly when a 16-year-old girl, later identified as Jalalat Honesty, was fatally injured in a two-vehicle collision, authorities said.
Investigators say Honesty was a passenger in a Toyota traveling north on U.S. 287 when the driver attempted a left turn onto Prairie Ridge Boulevard from the northbound lanes. The Toyota was hit by an oncoming Ford truck traveling in the opposite direction, and several people were taken to area hospitals with serious injuries while police opened an investigation into the crash.
According to the Fort Worth Star-Telegram, the collision happened at about 5:40 p.m., when the Toyota began its turn and was struck by the Ford truck. Grand Prairie police said the driver of the Ford and both people in the Toyota were transported to a hospital, where Honesty later died from her injuries.
The Tarrant County Medical Examiner’s Office identified the victim as Jalalat Honesty, Yahoo News Canada reports.

Emergency crews rushed to the scene, treating the injured and taking them to nearby hospitals while officers worked to document the wreckage and gather evidence, the Fort Worth Star-Telegram reports.
