Ricky McDill of the Volunteer Life-Saving Corps and Casey Donnel from Jacksonville Beach Ocean Rescue provided details on the restoration, noting the focus on preserving the station while keeping lifesaving services fully operational during construction. The update outlined the coordinated efforts to maintain both public safety and the historic integrity of the site.
The renovation project brings together restoration specialists and lifesaving personnel. In a Facebook post, McDill and Donnel said, "These improvements will strengthen the building, protect it from the elements, and help maintain its historic designation," emphasizing the focus on preserving the station’s historic status while improving its structural durability.
