The Thanksgiving travel season in Houston has reached its peak, with George Bush Intercontinental Airport and Hobby Airport experiencing heavy passenger traffic on Monday, the last day of the holiday window. While there were no major delays, lines at the terminals have been steadily growing, matching AAA's projections of increased flight activity and wait times.
Business traveler Chance Merrikh commented on the crowded scene, saying, "I’d rather spend my time relaxing instead of fighting TSA lines," according to Click2Houston. This contrasts with the quiet terminals seen just weeks ago during the federal government shutdown.
From November 30 to December 1, over 2.1 million people are expected to travel through Houston’s airports. Travelers are advised to arrive early. Flight status, parking, and TSA wait times are available on the Bush Intercontinental and Hobby Airport websites. KHOU provides weather, traffic, and flight updates. Airlines should be checked for any last-minute delays or cancellations.
