Authorities in Jacksonville have arrested Curtis Asberry, 37, in connection with two separate murders that occurred within a day of each other last month. The Jacksonville Sheriff's Office (JSO) charged Asberry following an extensive investigation.
The first incident occurred on Saturday, November 15, when JSO District 1 officers found the body of 27-year-old Maurice Solomon on East 15th Street near Phoenix Avenue. The Medical Examiner’s Office later ruled his death a homicide. The following day, a civilian discovered the body of a woman under a bridge along Blanding Boulevard. She was identified as 35-year-old Tiffany Felton, and her death was also ruled a homicide.
Asberry, initially arrested on November 17, on unrelated charges, became the prime suspect in both homicides following an investigation by JSO’s Homicide detectives. Through systematic evidence gathering, detectives linked Asberry to the cases. As of last Friday, he faces murder charges for the deaths of both Maurice Solomon and Tiffany Felton.
