
The streets of Kannapolis were filled with holiday cheer as the Annual Christmas Parade illuminated the night with over 130 festively decorated entries. The event, which has become a beloved tradition for many, saw the community come together in a vibrant display of yuletide spirit wherein school bands, civic groups, churches, and even cheerleaders vied for the top spots in various categories.
Amidst the competition, it was the A.L. Brown JV and Varsity Cheerleaders who took home first place in the School Category; their performance stood out in the fields of Originality, Creativity, and Presentation. Following behind were the A.L. Brown Skills USA Chapter and the A.L. Brown Wrestling team, earning the second and third place awards, respectively, according to the City of Kannapolis' official announcement.
When it came to Civic Organizations, Jeepers United led the pack, shining bright as the first-place winner. They were closely trailed by the Forbidden Forest Horror Trail who placed second and the Charlotte Elite Riderz, capturing the third spot it is notable how creatively these groups interpreted the holiday theme, thus engaging paradegoers with their unique perspectives on Christmas cheer.
In the Church Category, the efforts of Bethpage Presbyterian garnered them the top prize, while Rodgers Park Baptist and Christ Embassy Charlotte followed in second and third places sequently showcasing the spirit of the season in each of their parade displays. The School Band Category had the musicians from A.L. Brown High marching to first place, with Northwest Cabarrus High and West Cabarrus High not falling far behind, securing the second and third places, as noted in the report by the City of Kannapolis.
The judging criteria established for the parade focused on the essential elements that constitute an exceptional entry: Originality, Creativity, and Presentation, all elements that were exemplified by the parade's diverse winners.
