Kingwood’s latest caffeine fix has officially arrived. RareTea, the boba and specialty-tea chain, opened its new storefront in the Northpark retail corridor with a grand opening on Nov. 21, bringing milk teas, fruit teas, uji matcha, Tea-Presso milk tea, smoothies, and Vietnamese coffee to the busy stretch near Highway 59.
Officials marked the debut with an opening celebration on Nov. 21, according to Community Impact, which also notes the Kingwood shop’s online presence as part of the chain’s regional rollout.
Menu highlights
The Kingwood location is pouring many of the brand’s greatest hits, from Uji Matcha Lattes and brown sugar boba shakes to a range of fruit teas. The listing for the shop on DoorDash shows those staples alongside specialty smoothies and seasonal drinks, indicating the store is already plugged into delivery for residents who prefer boba on demand.
Where it sits in Kingwood
RareTea set up shop in the Northpark retail corridor near the Kingwood Place shopping center, a growing strip anchored by H-E-B and other national tenants. Kingwood Place promotes the center as a northern gateway into Kingwood and highlights an evolving roster of retailers that make the stretch a natural landing spot for quick-serve concepts like boba and coffee.
A growing brand in Texas
On the corporate side, RareTea bills itself as a fast-growing tea concept operating across several states, with an emphasis on fresh ingredients and TeaPresso brewing techniques, according to RareTea. The company lists Texas among the markets where it is active or expanding, framing the Kingwood store as another step in a broader statewide push.
Why it matters
RareTea’s arrival caps a busy retail season for Kingwood. The opening lands just days after Trader Joe’s debuted in Kingwood Commons on Dec. 5, a one-two punch that points to rising demand for neighborhood convenience and specialty food options, per Community Impact. For now, locals have one more grab-and-go stop for boba, tea, or Vietnamese coffee as they wander the corridor, which continues to fill in with a mix of national names and local favorites.
