A rollover crash involving a grey Tesla and a dark-colored SUV has shut down Valley View Boulevard and Viking Road in both directions near the Rio Hotel and Casino, the Regional Transportation Commission of Las Vegas said. Las Vegas Metropolitan Police responded around 5:05 p.m., and the occupants of the Tesla were taken to a local hospital with minor injuries, according to News 3 LV.
The intersection remains closed as traffic officers manage the scene and continue the investigation, with debris and the vehicles still marking the crash site. The Regional Transportation Commission is urging drivers to use alternate routes to avoid delays in the area.
KTNV reports that Valley View Boulevard was closed in both northbound and southbound directions because of the crash. Drivers were advised to plan for delays and seek alternate routes while the road is closed.
