In an effort to enhance child safety in vehicles, the Lewisville Police Department is offering a helping hand to parents and guardians uncertain about the proper use of child safety seats. Announced in a recent social media post, the Lewisville Police Department has introduced Monthly Child Safety Seat Clinics, a service that will take place on the last Monday of each month at the Tittle McFadden Public Safety Center located at 1187 W. Main St.
The clinics offer hands-on assistance from certified technicians who will review the safety seat in question, demonstrating the correct installation process and ensuring each child has a seat suited to their size and needs, the department said. This initiative underscores the importance of car seat safety and aims to educate the community on proper usage. Those interested in attending the clinic are advised to call 972.219.3668, but must schedule an appointment ahead of the event. The free service is not restricted to residents of Lewisville, widening its reach to any who needs assistance.
Participation in these clinics will next be available on December 29, when parents can bring their car seats for inspection and installation guidance. "Our certified technicians will review your child's safety seat, show you how to install it if necessary and answer any questions #carseatsafety," the Lewisville Police Department's statement detailed.
