Louisiana Governor Jeff Landry announced key appointments within the Louisiana Department of Revenue. Taking the reins as the new Secretary is Jarrod J. Coniglio, stepping up from his role as Deputy Secretary. Governor Landry also announced promotions for Brandea Averett to Deputy Secretary and Catherine Logan to Assistant Secretary, Office of Legal Affairs, according to the Office of the Governor.
"First, I want to thank Richard Nelson for his dedicated service over the past two years as Secretary of Revenue," Governor Landry said. He went on to celebrate past achievements, "Under his leadership, and with the hard work of this team, we passed historic tax reform that has already helped attract tens of billions of dollars in new investment to our state." Looking to the future, Landry expressed enthusiasm about working with Coniglio, "I look forward to continuing that momentum with Jarrod Coniglio as Secretary," and highlighted the capabilities of Averett and Logan, "and I am proud to recognize Brandea Averett and Catherine Logan as they move into their new roles and continue serving the people of Louisiana," as mentioned in the same news.
Jarrod J. Coniglio brings to the table a wealth of experience spanning over 20 years. Before he was appointed Deputy Secretary by Governor Jeff Landry in 2024, Coniglio played a significant role in the state's healthcare program integrity and held key positions in financial services. His resume includes leadership stints in Louisiana’s Medicaid Program Integrity Section, as well as senior positions at JPMorgan Chase and Wells Fargo. Not just a figure in finance, Coniglio has also dedicated time to the Louisiana Army National Guard.
Accomplishments in the public sector aside, Coniglio holds a Bachelor of Science in Finance from Louisiana State University. Residing in Walker, Louisiana, he is accompanied by his wife, Wendy, and a family that includes their three children, Branden, Laura, and Emma – and the joy extends to their grandchildren, Camille, Drew, and Adelaide. The announcements were detailed further on the Office of the Governor's website, which provided background on the appointed individuals.
