In a statement that underscores the severity of online crimes against minors, Valentin Lubinski of Malvern, Pennsylvania has been sentenced to a solid 20 years in prison for his crimes of sexually exploiting many minor girls and child pornography offenses. The announcement came from United States Attorney David Metcalf, as reported by a recent publication on the Department of Justice's official website.

Lubinski, 26, was indicted in February 2023 on 36 counts, including use of an interstate commerce facility to entice a minor and the manufacture of child pornography. He plead guilty to all the charges in December of the previous year. According to court documents and statements, he terrorized victims as young as nine using the social media handle "Leo_32149," in June 2022, by coercing them into producing and sending him explicit content.

The exploitation method employed by Lubinski was consistent and manipulative. Upon contacting the victims, he misrepresented his age and engaged with each victim, requesting images under the guise of harmless exchanges. He then swiftly transitioned to coercive tactics, asking questions like "R u freaky?" and pushing for more explicit photographs, regardless of the victim’s responses or discomfort.

All too often, when the victims resisted, he resorted to threats of public humiliation, threatening to leak their images on social media platforms, as detailed by the Department of Justice. Victims, caught in Lubinski’s web of blackmail, found themselves in a traumatic cycle of exploitation, as many begged for the threats and demands to cease.

Lubinski's conviction is part of a larger crusade titled Project Safe Childhood, a nationwide initiative launched in May 2006 by the Department of Justice. This campaign strives to aggressively locate, apprehend such predators and prosecute individuals who exploit children over the internet and work to provide the necessary support for the victims. More information on Project Safe Childhood can be sought on their official website.

The Federal Bureau of Investigation's Newtown Square Resident Agency took on the investigative responsibilities for this case. Assistant United States Attorneys Kelly Harrell and Amanda McCool led the prosecution, ensuring that Lubinski's reprehensible conduct did not go unpunished. In addition to his prison term, Lubinski will endure 20 years of supervised release and is ordered to pay a special assessment of $3,600, along with $28,000 in restitution and other assessments.
