
A suspect has been arrested by the Metropolitan Police Department in connection with a stabbing incident that took place in Northeast Washington, D.C. The stabbing, which occurred on Kenilworth Avenue on the evening of Wednesday, left one man injured.
According to an MPD release, officers from the Sixth District responded around 6:25 p.m. to reports of a stabbing. They found an adult male with a stab wound, and DC Fire and EMS transported him to a local hospital with non-life-threatening injuries. MPD said the stabbing occurred after the suspect allegedly intervened in an argument and then pulled out a knife and stabbed the victim.
Two days after the incident, last Friday, officers recognized and arrested the suspect at the same location as the initial crime. A knife, believed to be the one used in the stabbing, was recovered at the scene. The suspect, identified as 49-year-old Gerard Fitzgerald Roseby, is now facing a charge of Assault with a Dangerous Weapon (Knife).
